Now on Kindle: A Kokoda Adventure

A Kokoda Adventure by Charlie Lynn and Glenn Armstrong is now available as an eBook on Amazon Kindle.

A companion to 100 Treks Across the Kokoda Trail, this eBook takes the reader on a 12-day journey across the famous Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea.

A Kokoda Adventure provides the reader with a geographical, historical and emotional perspective; its purpose "to give those who have not trekked Kokoda an idea of the itinerary, terrain and history; and for those who have trekked an opportunity to relive the experience", complete with photos from the Trail and attributed citations from previously published accounts.

The eBook is subtitled ‘an armchair guide to the Kokoda Trail’ as it provides the reader with the best experience of the Kokoda Trail without having to undertake a grueling 12-day trek.

The eBook also includes an afterword that calls for greater access to the Kokoda Trail for those that cannot trek.

“The authors continue to lobby for a Visitor Centre at Owers Corner. This would provide an opportunity for more people of all ages and ability to learn about and experience the Kokoda Trail and its history, without having to undertake a gruelling and risky trek."

"The Visitor Centre would be easily accessible as a day trip, by car or bus from Port Moresby, provide spectacular views across the Owen Stanley Ranges, and could possibly double as a historical research and cost-centre for the development of other wartime tourism assets throughout Papua New Guinea.”
